Perimenopause & Menopause

This stage in a woman’s life may be daunting. Dealing with the changes that are occurring can be a stressful time.

Perimenopause is the stage that usually starts for women in their forties, and sometimes earlier. As your egg production decreases your progesterone also decreases. You start to have night sweats, feel irritable, your libido diminishes, your skin and hair feel drier, and even may experience hair loss. You may have disrupted sleep and periods that are very heavy and then some months none at all. You crave
sugar and salt, and you experience more headaches.

Then follows menopause. Estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone all drop leading to a decrease in
muscle mass, lowered libido, possibly painful, dry intercourse, moodiness, weepiness, brain fog and
insomnia.

But it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom! Ensuring that your gut and liver are in good functioning conditions can make your journey into this next stage of life much easier.

At Balance by The Lake we will assess your hormone levels, and liver and gut health and put together a wellness plan to help you sail through this next chapter of your life!
